5 Tips in making the Statement of the Problem in Research

 

Problem Statement - description of an issue which needs to be addressed

Tip 1 

– list a few ideas about the topic

- ask yourselves kung magbebenefit din baa ng iba sa icoconduct niyong research study, will it be useful?

Tip 2

– be concise

- APA format, 12 words

- use clear and direct language

- keep your problem statement as short as possible

Tip 3 

- Write for your audience

- Isipin kung sino ang magiging resspondents like "ang questions ba namin ay matched sa makukuha kong respondents? masasagutan ba nila accurately yung mga prinovide naming questions?"

- Make sure na yung research questions niyo ay madaling maiintindihan ng audience

Tip 4

- don't use jargon words without defining it

- Jargon words for example, "Biopsy, Sub-therapeutic, Hypertension" These are terms na mostly yung sa mga nasa medical field lang ang nakakaintindi, so as much as possible, don't use terms na hindi alam ng karamihan especially if you're respondents ay hindi naman doctor or from the medical team

Tip 5

- Remember the 5Ws

- Dapat in chronological order etong 5ws

- Common order: 3 what questions, 1 why, 1 how

- sa what questions, make sure na hindi lang isang side yung itatanong mo, dapat both positive and negative sides (depende na nga lang kung ang study mo ay about sa disadvantages and advantages)

- Sa how question, dun yung plan of action kung paano maoovercome yung negative na tinanong sa what question
